Intern at Palomar Health Hospital in southern California, where I got direct patient care experience as part of the care team. Responsibilities included: ADLs, vitals, interfacing with visitors and families on a regular basis, assisting with wound care, foley care, EKG lead placement, and patient transfers/discharge. Proven ability to proactively responded to patients and nurses within appropriate scope while implementing hospital policies 100% of time to ensure patient and health care team safety. Department experience included: Cardiovascular ICU, Trauma/Surgical ICU, Pulmonary Progressive Care, Medical Acute Care/Oncology, Geriatric Psych Unit. Community involvement included: Worked in eight community flu clinics within San Diego County during the 2019/2020 flu season.

Volunteered in the Cardiac Wellness Center. Responsibilities: Assisted in restorative exercise classes, setup, and monitored patients to ensure safe practices, and utilized interpersonal skills when interacting with cardiac patients and engaged in meaningful conversations.

Volunteered in Pre Operation and PACU. Responsibilities: Exercised sensitivity in patient interactions, restocked department with proper supplies, gained knowledge of hospital environment and workflow.

Volunteered at the youth heart screening clinic by conducting EKGs, navigating families throughout the clinic, and supporting staff at the event.

Clinical hours of pre-, intra-, and post-operation patient care at Garfield Medical Center and San Diego Medical Center. Partnered with preceptor to provide safe, efficient patient care and education, and excellent bedside manner.
