I have decided to pursue nursing because it is a career path that aligns with my beliefs and what I hope to accomplish in my life. I have wanted to be a nurse for quite a while; as a young girl I grew up with a few role models who were nurses. Their stories and strength always inspired me. As I went through school, science, anatomy, and pathophysiology were fascinating to me. I have always been a hard worker and have always felt a great sense of compassion, so I felt that nursing would be a career that would well suit me. Now, I have been blessed with a wonderful life, and I want to give back to the world. Working as a caregiver and a CNA brought me a level of peace and fulfillment that helped me to be sure of my goal to become a nurse. My past experience, my personality, and my desire to learn drives me to pursue a career as an ICU nurse as well as an educator in my future. I look forward to being a source of healing and knowledge for all populations, but especially geriatrics and women. I have always enjoyed school, and I hope to continue learning and educating myself throughout the rest of my life. I love that nursing allows you to choose from a variety of paths and to further your education if you so desire. I think that nursing is a career that will use my strengths in the best possible way. I am gentle, compassionate, intelligent, and I have a very diligent work ethic. I love to learn and push myself. I am excited for the possibilities that a nursing career will bring, to work towards my goals, and to hopefully make a bit of a difference in the world.

Eric Paredes Save a Life Foundation
I volunteer with this foundation to screen teenagers for risk of sudden cardiac arrest. This is a great program that is put on to educate teens and detect abnormal ECGs. As a volunteer, I perform ECGs as well as teach CPR to the kids.
Symbiosis Medical
I volunteered with Symbiosis Medical as a member of the medical tent at Cali Vibes music festival. As a volunteer you work alongside a nurse to take care of any patients who enter your section.
