The first time I thought about going into nursing was after I was a victim of an earthquake in Haiti in 2010. I witnessed how fragile both health and life can be while looking at the countless wounded patients and bodies lying on the hospital floor. I felt powerless, wanting to help but unable to. My philosophy is that nursing is more than just a career, nursing is about using my knowledge and experience to provide excellent patient-centered care. I strive to promote healthy habits, advocate for healthcare access, and educate to enhance disease awareness in the community. Knowing that I can help improve the lives of the people around me strengthens my commitment to this profession. My goal is to become an expert in the nursing field, I want to earn my Certificate as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) within the next 6 years. This way, I will gain more autonomy in the field while ensuring that my clients go through surgery safely and pain-free.

The Restraint Dilemma: When to Use Restraints on Elderly Patients? Research, 2020 Collaborated with Physical restraints have been overused in many different healthcare settings. There are many adverse effects to their use, even death. They not only have poor outcomes in physical health, but also affect psychological health. The wide use and often times abuse of restraints brings about curiosity about their efficiency, contemplation of alternatives, and nursing ethical considerations.

National Safety Goals and Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections Research, 2021 Collaborated with Research by Alanazi et al. (2021) investigated the use of central lines (CL) in the intensive care unit (ICU) and its association with increased risk for central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI). The objective of the study was to examine the existing evidence-based preventive strategies to reduce CLABSIs in adult ICUs. The researchers hypothesized that most CLABSIs can be avoided, and the incidence rate could be reduced to zero.
