I am a Maternal-Child Registered Nurse of and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I have worked clinically as a lactation consultant in: post-partum, labor & delivery, NICU, outpatient lactation clinic, WIC, and home health settings. As a nurse, I have completed AWHONN training in labor and delivery and postpartum nursing while working in both fields for the past year and a half. In early 2024, I dedicated myself to postpartum and lactation while resigning from labor and delivery. Even though all aspects of nursing fascinate me, I know that my nursing talents are served in the capacity of some sort of mother and/or baby nurse. Other nursing interests I have thought about practicing are NICU and pediatrics. My plans for the future are to continue my education, eventually becoming a MSN or DNP Family Nurse Practitioner, thus allowing me to both practice and teach. My objective in becoming an educator, primarily, is to spread my knowledge of nursing and lactation to nurses pursuing a career in the maternal-child nursing field. Since, that goal is a bit down the road. I want to be the best nurse I can be for now.
